What is a Virtual Power Plant (LPP)?

A Virtual Power Plant (VPP) is an energy storage system that allows a building or part of a building to run off-grid when the mains power supply fails or when it decides to during peak demand on the grid or when electricity charges are highest. An uninterruptible power supply (UPS system) Is a form of Virtual Power Plant where the traditional lead-acid battery set is replaced by a Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery as Li-ion batteries are more suited to the more regular and higher number of charge/discharge cycles required.
