Will much energy does LED lighting save?
LED lighting has two principle benefits for office environments even though the cost of the light bulbs is higher than a traditional halogen bulb. The first is that they require less power and normally by a factor of 10 to achieve the same or higher lighting (measured in Lumens). So a traditional 60W bulb can be replaced by a 6W bulb. The second factor is that being more energy efficient, LED lights give off less heat and so do not add to cooling costs. This can be a downside in warehouse environments with high roof spaces.
