FAQs - Generator Services

Information on generator services including installation, maintenance and emergency callout.

When servicing a generator we have to take it off-line in order to be able to carry out the work safely. We limit the time the generator is off-line and seek site approval before this. Uptime can be maintained if two or more generators are installed in an N+1 redundant configuration to allow concurrent maintenance. This means that one generating set can be off-line whilst the other or others are live and capable of supporting the load.

A generator is a device that converts Kinetic energy generated from combustion into electrical energy to provide an AC (alternating current) or DC (direct current) power source to a load.

Bunding is a method of containing liquid spillage from a system, for example, oil or diesel from a standby generator.
