Intelligent PDUs fitted with optional plug-in sensors can monitor environmental factors including temperature and humidity within the rack cabinet and surrounding area.

Metered PDUs can provide total or individual outlet socket measurements to provide device-level and circuit-level monitoring. The measurements and data available include: AC Input voltage (Vac), Input frequency (Hz), load (A, kVA and kW), peak load (A) and energy usage (kWh).

Intelligent PDUs with network connectivity can have individual static IP addresses set for them. This will require running network utility software from the PDU manufacturer.

Form factor refers to the orientation of a device when mounted in a 19inch rack cabinet and can be vertical or horizontal.
