Can retail chains take part in Demand Side Response programmes?

Retail businesses with large enough standby power generators can benefit from Demand Side Response (DSR) programmes run by the National Grid. Energy aggregators act as a middle-company providing the service that allows the retailer owned generators to be switched-on and their power exported to the grid. The retailer receives income in the form of a connection fee and a usage fee.
